To change the operation mode of your Sigma card insert it together with a simcard that got a 4 to 7 digit pin code activated to your phone (can be a locked or unlocked phone - both are ok) and power the phone on, the phone will ask you as usual for the pin code, enter your 4 digit pincode followed by the special 4 digit operation mode and press enter, sigma will from now on work in this mode, if you want to change the operation mode just repeat this operation.
The 4 digit decimal operation mode defines which imsi reads get replaced by the SIGMA X-SIM The operation mode will be converted to a 13 bit mask by the Sigma card.
Examples:
0000 = No read will be altered (SIGMA is basically deactivated in this mode)
0001 = The first read will be replaced (Most Nokia, Samsung, Motorola...)
0002 = The second read will be replaced (Few Nokia models, especiall N Series)
0003 = The first two reads will be replaced
0004 = The third read will be replaced
8185 = For most sharp models (this is the default configuration)
8191 = TMSI mode (patch all imsi reads) Let's take out
Two examples:
001 (dec.) = 0000000000001 (binary) Means the first read will be relaced
8185 (dec.) = 1111111111001 (binary) Means all reads except the 2nd and 3rd will get replaced |

Sigma X-SIM (SIGMA Alpha X-SIM3) is made of a very thin piece of FPC (0.10mm) with a Microcontroller mounted on, that goes between your Operator's SIM card & the phone's SIM socket.
Because of it is very thin & slim design it fits into almost all phone's on the market and can also be easily removed again. It's got Gold Immersion and makes perfect contact with the card and the socket at ALL times...
Follow up:
Cutting of your Operator's SIM card is required but kept to a minimum. (there are products on the market claiming that no cutting is required to use them, however they don't give a reliable connection between the phone and the SIM card so that in certain cases it might not work at all or you might get problems during usage)
